Hunting Catalogs - No Matter What Hunting Item You Want, the Right Catalog Will Have It

Hunting Catalogs - No Matter What Hunting Item You Want, the Right Catalog Will Have It

Hunting catalogs can be a excellent way to fill your hunting needs. Regardless of whether you need guns, hunting rifle scopes, bullets, etc, you can find them in these catalogs.

Hunting Catalogs - No Matter What Hunting Item You Want, the Right Catalog Will Have It

Of course, nowadays you can find them on the internet in addition the physical mailings, so it's much easier to get what you want quickly. Also, they are completely free of charge, which often times isn't the case with catalogs, because you usually have to pay at least shipping with these.

However, remember that while hunting catalogs are a starting point to find the equipment you need, be sure not to just accept the manufactures claims at face value. Be sure to do some research online and make sure the equipment is top quality.

Hunting Catalogs - No Matter What Hunting Item You Want, the Right Catalog Will Have It

Don't just go with the cheapest in order to save money, because you might end up spending more in the long run if you buy a low quality item, because you will end up replacing it immediately after.

First, run through the catalog and find the times in it that will match your allowed spending amount, and once you do confine your searches to these, now just read reviews of those items on the internet, and you will quickly and easily find the best one with this.

Also, if you have trouble finding reviews for your particular model, I'd recommend you visit hunting forums, where there are going to be plenty of hunters online who can help you. try and find well trafficked forums where you question can get answered within minutes, and you don't have to wait days on end.

This really isn't difficult. I'd recommend you make your purchases using hunting catalogs as opposed to the local store, just because you can generally save quite a bit of money from the typical retail markup you'd otherwise be paying.

What kind of items are most prevalent in online hunting catalogs? While the typical equipment is all there, which I laid out, probably the thing you will have the easiest time finding is hunting clothing, such as clothes that blend in with the surrounds, footwear, and basically anything you need to wear while hunting for any weather you might encounter. No matter what you want, you can find it with online hunting catalogs.

Ancient Sumer - Food Habits

Ancient Sumer - Food Habits

Sumerians were the first culture to quit hunting and gathering Food and begin cultivation. Like many other inventions that Sumerian culture gave to the world, they also contributed in farming and Food. Sumerian Food consisted mainly of barley.

The raw material of most of Sumerian Food was barley, barley cakes and barley paste were accompaniMents of all major meals. Wheat and millet were other raw materials used in Sumerian food. Farming yielded vegetables and fruits, chickpeas, lentils, beans, onion, garlic, leeks, cucumbers, cress, mustard and fresh green lettuce was all part of the early Sumerian food. Sumerians were the first culture to settle down and leave the earlier nomad lifestyle. With settleMent they began domesticating animals for food and labor. Goat's milk and meat, eggs, pig; wild fowl, deer and venison were an integral part of the Sumerian's food as well.

Everyday Sumerian food was probably barley cakes with onions and beans washed down with barley ale. Fish that swarmed in the rivers of Mesopotamia were a major food source too. Over fifty different types of Fish are mentioned in the early texts dating before 2300 BC and the fried fish vendors had a thriving trade in the city of Ur. Food stalls also sold onions, cucumbers, freshly grilled goat, mutton and Pork. Meat was more popular and common in big cities as compared to sparsely populated towns as they would spoil in the heat. Cattle were only slaughtered for consumption when they were nearly at the end of their working lives.

Information about Sumerian food can be gathered from archaeology and written records on cuneiform tablets. These sources also indicated the importance of barley and wheat cakes as the staple diet together with grain and legume soups, onion, leeks, garlic and melon. Besides farmed vegetables, Sumerian food also included fruits. These were apples, fig and grapes. Several culinary herbs and honey and cheese, butter and vegetable oil have also been mentioned in later Sumerian food records. Sumerians drank beer often and sometimes wine too. Preservation of foodstuff had also been evolved with meats being salted and fruits conserved in honey. Various other fruits including apples were dried to preserve them and a fermented cause is also mentioned in the Akkadian texts.

Rice and corn was unknown in ancient Mesopotamia, thus barley and its flour was the staple Sumerian food. Their bread was coarse, flat and unleavened, though an expensive version was made out of finer flour. Pieces of this bread were found in the tomb of Queen Puabi of Ur, left there for sustenance in afterlife. Breads were enhanced with butter, milk and cheese, sesame seeds and even fruits and their juices. Later records show truffles being made as well. With the advent of irrigation canals lush fruit and vegetable farms with fruits like mulberries, pears, plum, cherries and pomegranates were found in abundance. The most important food crop in southern Mesopotamia was the date palm. Goats, cows and ewe were domesticated for milk; geese and ducks for eggs and some 50 varieties of fish were a staple Sumerian food. Meats were cooked by roasting, boiling, barbecuing or broiling and preserved by drying, smoking or salting.

Gypsy Fortune Teller Halloween Costumes - Easy to Make

Gypsy Fortune Teller Halloween Costumes - Easy to Make

As a little girl I often loved to Dress up as a gypsy, whether it was for Halloween or just for play. Maybe it's because I long to be free to do as I want and go where I wish, without the societal constraints we have to live by (that's why pirates are so fascinating to people too). Whatever it is, creating a fortune teller costume was the highlight of Halloween.

Gypsy Fortune Teller Halloween Costumes - Easy to Make

Back then there weren't many places to buy fancy costumes (nor did we have the money), so putting my own costume together was a bit of a challenge. Today we can purchase practically any costume we can think of and there are some pretty nice fortune teller Halloween costumes to choose from.

** A Brief History of Gypsy Costumes **

The gypsy people were called Roma or Romani. They are made up of loose nomadic tribes that wandered much of the European countries during the Middle Ages and often lived in caravans. There are still nomadic gypsies in the world today.

In the 15th and 16th centuries, the basic Dress of the woman was a simple robe gathered at the neck worn over an under gown made of chemise. They also wore a length of Cloth which was draped down the back, around the opposite waist, up the front and tied at the shoulder (think Roman toga). A turban was worn on the head.

As time went on, fashions changed. For the most part, gypsies actually dressed very similar to the peasants of the area in which they traveled and cultural dress of the time. Most of the style of gypsy Clothing that we picture today probably came from the Renaissance period when laced vests, flounced skirts, Men's breeches and pirate shirts were more popular.

** Making a Gypsy Halloween Costume **

For those that want to put together their own gypsy costume or are planning on being a "fortune teller" for Halloween this year, you may have to do a bit of shopping around at used clothing stores for some items. If you are handy with a sewing machine, there are many fortune teller costume patterns available as well. Here are some suggestions for both Men and woMen (and boys/girls) that can easily be created once you get all the items:

Women/Girl's Fortune Teller/Gypsy Outfit 1

* Long Tired skirt in a bright color.

* Gypsy style shirt - gathered scooped neck, puffy sleeves gathered at the Wrist or long wide flowing sleeves

* Brightly colored front-laced vest

* Black leotard stockings

* Black shoes

* Brightly colored sash for the waist

* Matching bandana for hAir

* Gold hoop earrings and some long, colorful beaded necklaces, bangles for arms

Women/Girl's Fortune Teller/Gypsy Outfit

* Long wide-flowing black skirt

* White peasant's shirt

* Black front-laced vest

* Black stockings

* Black shoes

* Brightly colored apron or a shorter overskirt

* Long black wig with tight ringlets or curls

* Colored 2" to 3" wide headband

* Gold hoop earrings and some long, colorful beaded necklaces, bangles for arms

Men/Boys Gypsy/Pirate Costume

* Black or brown breeches

* Black boots

* White pirate shirt

* Long-length black or brown vest preferably trimmed with a gold-colored braiding

* Red or another colorful long scarf for the sash at the waist

* Colorful bandana

* One gold hoop earring

Let your imagination run wild with the colors and styles you could mix and match. The trick is to dress in layers and use clothing that is loose and flowing. Add jewelry like bangles, long flowing necklaces, large earrings and ankle bracelets to enhance your outfit. Use colorful sashes accent the waist (and also to hold daggers). Women could drape several sheer scarves from their waist to hang down in points around a solid colored skirt. Include headbands, bandanas and even eye patches for that gypsy pirate look. Purples, blues, greens, bright yellows, reds and blacks are the most popular colors and will make your outfit stand out.

Goose Feathers

Goose Feathers

Versatility of feathers can be seen from its usage for adorning purposes to designing purposes and much more. Like other feathers goose feathers have their own qualities and have become hottest fad for decorating centerpieces, Party venues or homes etc. Apart from decorating they are used for stuffing bedding, pillows as pillows containing white goose feathers give a proper alignMent to your body and gives greater support which is beneficial in good night sleep. These goose feathers make very beautiful centerpieces which can be used for Party decoration and if kept in sleek vases looks very pretty.

These feathers make very beautiful Christmas trees. Thus creating a goose feather tree is a simple process and requires wrapping it around wires and depending on ones need these trees can be made up to two to six feet tall. The artificial goose feather trees were originated in Germany more than 120 years ago because at that time people were more concerned about deforestation. But with time these trees have become latest trends and have simply transformed in holiday decoration.

Apart from goose feathers being used in decorations, ornaMents they can be also used for making feather pens which were being used in ancient times and these days are used in calligraphy. They can be used with ink and for calligraphy by following simple steps.

o Select the right goose feather having thick and long stem.
o The next step is to sharpen the tip and this process is to be repeated when it wears out. As calligraphers needs sharpen tips for their work.
o With sharpening hardening is also required. The harder and stiff the feather will be it becomes better. To harden the tip either it can be dipped in hot blazing sand or another way of doing it is holding it above the light flame so that it becomes harden but be careful that it should not be burnt.
o Remember to have many quills so that one wears out you must have another available. Also remember the life of quills can be extended by plucking and sharpening.
o Now finally dip the feather into ink and take care you don't get too much or too less ink in the tip as little ink will fade away quickly and too much will leave blobs on paper. In case there is too much ink in the tip keep a piece of paper or Cloth to wipe of glut ink.
o Also use right ink for calligraphy which is especially for calligraphic purposes and don't use Indian or printer ink as it won't work and won't give desired results.
o Choice of right kind of paper is also necessary for calligraphy as you can use either smooth paper or matte paper which will help in giving nicer finish to it.

Goose feathers can be got from any art or craft shop or can be got from bulk suppliers of feathers. Some event manageMent companies and fashion designers buy feathers in bulk from suppliers and use them for decoration and other purposes.

The Secrets of Being Irresistibly Sexy

The Secrets of Being Irresistibly Sexy

If you are with a man who does not like you the way you are for whatever reason: he prefers blondes, big breasts, small breasts, French braids, big woMen, small woMen, blue woMen, or green men run to the nearest exit because there must be a mutual attraction. Don't think that you will change his mind, desire is natural. Don't become his sexual habit because he has gotten accustom to using you. Some women may not agree with this but: Yes, you do want your man to lust after you like the whore in the hot Pants whom he swears he wasn't Watching.

The Secrets of Being Irresistibly Sexy

The Secrets of Being Irresistibly Sexy

Except yourself for who you are - the way you are, then surround yourself with people who feel the same way as you do. For example, everyone doesn't like McDonald's hamburgers, right? But it doesn't make sense for the creator to worry about the people who will never eat Big Macs but, make sure that the people who like his hamburger can't get enough. No matter how much you enjoy your favorite Food, you don't want it everyday. But the important factor is that your favorite Food has become part of your staple diet and you can't imagine living your life without it. Become his favorite Food.

The very first thing that you must do is express your unique personality. You need to completely understand that there is no other woman in the world like you. Therefore, you are an extraordinarily, unique, special individual. However, on the flip side, you are no different than any other woman, you have eyes, nose, buttocks, thighs, breasts, vagina, and legs. There will always be one that is bigger, better, smaller, larger, firmer and tighter than yours.

What makes a woman truly irresistible and desirable contains two components 70% her inner beauty and 30% how she presents her physical assets. Her inner beauty is the totality of her ability to exude her unseen attributes i.e. personality, opinions, talent, kindness, and mannerisms freely and authentically. Additionally, she must learn what her physical assets are and accentuate and display them with confidence.

1. Don't be afraid to be who you really are. Speak your mind, be open, honest and interesting. Don't speak negatively about other people it makes you look petty. Talk about ideas. Be yourself! Be yourself! (This is not a typo) Don't worry about whether or not other people like you.

2. What is your best physical asset? Is it your eyes, breasts, legs? You should know this information second to your name. Whatever your physical assets are play them up.

3. Buy Clothes that compliment your soul and your body. If you walk in a store and see an outfit that looks like it was made with you in mind, or leaving it in the store feels like you left a part of yourself behind; this is a must buy. Learn which colors, brands and styles compliments you the most and stick with what works. What looks or smells good on another women won't necessarily have the same affect on you.

4. We all get a little lazy sometimes, but enough can not be said about personal hygiene. Pay attention to your finger and toe nails. Shave your legs and under your arms. Go that extra mile for yourself. Buy the vaginal washes that kills bacterial odor so that you will still smell fresh after a long day. Gels to whiten your teeth are not expensive, purchase them. A good rule of thumb to remember is: If he licked you from head to toe what would you taste and smell like. Take care of yourself accordingly.

5. Be unpredictable. Don't wear panties when he least expects it and wear long johns to bed just when he thought he could take you for granted. Men are socialized to be stimulated by the thrill of the hunt, to be challenged and competitive. Ask yourself: If I were a I man would I chase after me. What kind of prey are you? Easy. Mysterious. Complex. Humans value things that they believe are not easily obtained and priceless.

6. No matter how beautiful or attractive you are if you can't develop an emotional bond or attachment with your male. He must think about you when you are not around. There are several ways to do this, but the effectiveness depends solely on the type of man he is. Don't forget to understand the nature of the object you wish to possess. Here are a few suggestions:

Don't be a doormat. Be a little assertive, but fAir. Men love women who are challenging, poised and assertive. Don't hold a grudge or brag, let by-gones be by-gones but stand your ground and move on.

Be a little needy. Ask him to fix your car, unPlug the toilet, put your entertainment center together. Everyone wants to feel loved and needed- not used! Let him know that he is your macho man. This will only work if you are self-sufficient and independent. He will be complimented that you trust him enough to lean on him. Use this technique sparingly, it can be an extreme turn-off if used too often. Remember for a man: It's only sexy to be needed by someone who doesn't need him. The turn-on is the fact that you chose him.

7. Be his best friend, lover, girlfriend, wife and business consultant wrapped into one person. Listen to him when he talks about his day, friends, problems, concerns. Go have a drink with him at the bar and if a good-looking woman strolls in, you be the first to compliment her. Confidence is sexy.

8. Make love with the lights on no matter what size or shape your body is. When it's dark you can be substituted for any woman. Let him see your nipples rise to his touch, the goose pimples that cover your skin as he kisses your neck, and the expression on your face when he becomes a part of you. He can't see this at the restaurant or while you are Watching television together. Let him see what he does to you as a woman.

9. Before you be irresistibly sexy to your male partner, you must first learn do your homework to learn his definition of sexy. Make it a game if you can but you must find the answer to these questions: What helps him relax; what makes him feel close to you; what stimulates his senses; what arouses him sexually; what gives him pride. Learn what stimulates his five senses, touching, smelling, hearing, seeing and tasting. He is a unique individual, all men do not enjoy the same activities. The more you learn about how to please him; the more special you will become to him. Do your homework.

Proper and safe skiing means being properly and safely outfitted so that you are protected from internal, external humidity and poor, of course, cold temperatures. Packing the right combination of ski Clothing can be tricky, but you should be covered if pack the following items for a one week ski trip: Fleece Tops-3; Goggles-1; Hat-1; Headband-1; Ski Gloves-1 pAir; Ski Jacket-1; Ski Pants-1; Ski Socks-3 pAir; Sunglasses-1 pair; Sweaters-3; Thermal Underwear-2 sets.

Rather than wearing one thick layer of Clothing, it is recomMended that you Dress in layers, and stick to the standard three-layers system, which includes a base layer, an insulatinglayer, and a protective layer. The outer layer should be waterproof and windproof and should be made of a ' breathable ' material that allows perspiration to escape.

Wear a fleece, which is warm, light-weight and dries quickly, then add a sweater of acrylic or wool and, over it all, wear either eider or goose-down ski Pants and jacket to increase protection from the elements.

Your gloves should be thick enough to protect your fingers and hands from the elements, but must also be flexible enough to allow you to hold your ski poles comfortably, and you should choose a warm fleece hat (make sure it covers your ears), as you always lose a great deal of body heat through the top of your head.

Only wear one pair of socks at a time (wearing more reduces the bloodcirculation to your feet and makes them colder) and avoid blisters by wearing thick ones made of stretchable material. When it comes to underwear, choose wool thermals, which will provide more protection and warmth than cotton underwear.

The features you will want in a pair of Sunglasses are not only that they provide 100% ultra violet (UV) protection, but your glasses should be shatterproof and should wrap around your head and ears securely. You can wear goggles with your sunglasses whenever you may be skiing in Snow or rain.

If your budget allows you to do so, purchasing brand-name ski apparel will net you better quality and longer-lasting clothing and accessories.

10 Goose Hunting Tips and Secrets

10 Goose Hunting Tips and Secrets

Whether you've been goose hunting for years or just getting started there's times when just a single tip can help a hunter harvest a few limits of geese. Here are ten goose hunting tips that I hope will do just that for you this hunting season.

10 Goose Hunting Tips and Secrets

10 Goose Hunting Tips and Secrets

10 Goose Hunting Tips and Secrets

10 Goose Hunting Tips and Secrets

10 Goose Hunting Tips and Secrets

Flagging: There are two ways to call geese, by sound and visually. Since geese can see a black flag further than they can hear a goose call being blown flagging geese can be very effective. While flagging distant geese can be a very effective calling technique, a smaller flag can also be effective when the geese are much closer.

Goose Calling: If hunting where the geese want to be, you're totally hidden, and have a decent> goose decoy spread, goose call may not even be needed. But there are times when the geese will need some extra coaxing. I have found that simple natural goose sounds such as clucks and moans are very effective. Until you can produce realistic goose sounds with your goose call I would recomMend leaving it at home.

Flight Patterns: Here's are goose hunting tip that's helped me keep on hunting for the day instead of going home with my tail between my legs in. By identifying the flight patterns of geese you will be able to give your self options if another group of hunters has gained permission to hunt a field you planned on hunting. Hunting a field that's simply in their flight path is often referred to as huntingtraffic. In this situation you will want to bulk up decoy spread as much as possible.

Scouting: Nothing is more important for successful goose hunting than scouting. A couple of weeks before season starts you will want to start this process. Instead of just driving around the country side looking for feeding or loafing area I would recomMend starting at their roosting area and then following the geese to their feeding and loafing areas. Let the geese do the work for you. Once you have established their patterns it will be quite obvious where to hunt.

ConcealMent: With location being the most important eleMent for successful goose hunting, concealment is a very close second. While laydown blinds are very popular for goose hunting, I would recommend using natural cover such as a fence line or standing rows of corn whenever possible. If hunting flat areas such as hay field or groundbait keeping a low profile is very important and most often simply covering your self with a sheet of Fastgrass is a better option than a laydown blinds.

Wind Direction: Identifying the predicted wind direction the night before you head out goose hunting is very important, as well as when your setting out your decoy spread the next morning. First, some locations are just not a good choice to hunt when the wind is blowing from certain directions. Secondly, geese will always land against the wind so identifying wind direction is very important when setting out your goose decoys spreads andblinds.

Goose Decoys: While full body goose decoys are probably the best decoy in my opinion it's not always possible to use them. Not all farmers will allow you to drive into their fields. This is when shell decoys and silhouettes are a good option as they are much lighter and easier to carry in numbers on your back. Full body decoys are also much more expensive so depending upon how much money you have to spend you may want to consider shell decoys with motion stakes and get the best of both worlds.

Networking: Since goose hunting is almost done in fields your going to spend a lot of your time scouting. Be sure to take the time to talk with farmers in the area and ask them if they have seen geese in their fields, or just flying by.Talking with other hunters such as deer hunter, pheasant hunters and trappers can reveal, very useful information and tips at times.

Don't Forget To Cover Your Face And Hands: This may seem like a lame goose hunting tip to some hunters but concealment is just to important not to emphasize this subject. Every goose hunter wears camouflage Clothing and most even to laydown blind, but so many hunters just don't take the extra time to cover their faces and hands. My personal preference is a camo head net and face paint on my hands as gloves tend to dampen the sound of a goose call.

The Most Absurd Laws of Different Countries

The Most Absurd Laws of Different Countries

The newspaper The Times has published 25 strangest and most amusing laws of different countries. Inspired by the example of the British edition, here is another, more comprehensive, hit parade of the eccentric and frankly funny regulations legislative practice from the world.

The Most Absurd Laws of Different Countries

The peculiarities of the national legislations.

One can study the traditions and the peculiarities of the Mentality of the nations via the strange laws. In this regard to the form of the statute is the same product of cultures as a movie, a book or a picture. Australians have shown themselves to be very naive people in the alleged "mirror of laws: there is a law in Australia, which forbids to walk in the streets in black Clothes, felt shoes and with the face painted with blacking, because allthe above-Mentioned things constitute the costume of a night thief. Moreover, there is a law here, which orders the persons, who practice the carrier's trade for money, hay to take with them. Admittedly, no one sees to it that modern taxi-drivers adhere to this rule-they are lucky not to have been transporting their passengers by means of a team of horses for a long time already.

The inhabitants of Switzerland treat the repose of their associates overly respectfully. It occurred to the legislators of this very country to forbid discharging water down the toilet after loudly 10:0 pm, because it may disturb the neighbours. However, the modern Swiss sanitary engineering makes the violation of this law almost impossible. The waste tanks are produced with the heightened soundproofing;moreover, they are constructed in such a way that water flows down the special pipes instead of coming tumbling down with a crash.

The city-state Singapore is world famous for its neatness and high fines for the attempt to violate this neatness. Thus they end for the garbage, tossed out on the street, in the sum equivalent to 600 Dollars. Moreover, the sale of chewing gum had been forbidden for 12 years here-a radical measure of the struggle against the hooligans, who stick it anywhere. The prohibition was revoked only in 2004, when chewing gum appeared on the counters of the Singaporean drugstores.

The law, according to which women are prohibited from wearing Pants, was passed in African Swaziland not long ago. The regulation was sanctioned by the local monarch, whoproclaimed the return to the traditions, represent the untraditional arrangement whereas Pants underwear for the women of Swaziland. The punishment for the wear of Pants is rather humiliating: the soldiers snatch them off the women and tear them into small pieces. Admittedly, it remains unclear how the arms of the law will see the lingerie, if according to the law, which was passed by the same monarch, the women of Swaziland more than 10 years old mustn't t wear the overknee skirts.

The contempt of the King (the Queen).

It is forbidden by law to trample on money in Thailand. At first sight the measure is absolutely senseless, however some details will make the situation clear. The matter is that the King of this country is represented on all the notes and coins of Thailand. Stepping on hisimage is a sign of disrespect for the monarch, for which the imprisonment (novel) is expected.

Finally, it is still prohibited to name the pigs after Napoleon in France. It must be noted that in this case the spread of George Orwell's book "Animal farm" on the territory of the country should also be forbidden, because the hog a.k.a. Napoleon is one of the main characters of the work.

The survivals of the past.

Many strange laws, which are currently in force, nominally are nothing more than the survivals of the past, sometimes of quite a remote one.

Most often such regulations are found in Great Britain and in the United States, where the legislation hasn't been reconsidered completely over the ages. There even exist the public groups in the USA, which fight for the abolition of the"foolish" laws. This occupation is not one of the easy ones: an absurd, long unused law needs to be found, after all, and it is also necessary to check the following fact up-what if it was already abolished?

Let's consider, for example, the British law, mentioned by The Times, which prescribes two hours of archery exercises per day for every male subject, who is more than 14 years old. This decree was issued by King Edward III as far back as the 14-th century; he is also famous for the prohibition of the ball game, which is known as football nowadays. Football was finally allowed in 1603. The British were officially released from the obligation to practice
archery daily under Queen Victoria in 1863. Admittedly, there is a suspicion that they had stopped practicing itconsiderably earlier.

The Times also reminds that any freeman is allowed to lead the herd of sheep across London Bridge duty free in London. Moreover, freeman has an opportunity to lead geese in Cheapside. But a plague-stricken person is prohibited from taking taxis in the streets.

Moreover, there exists a law, according to which two men are forbidden to have sex with each other in a house, where the third person is present. This law was enacted at the end of the 16-th century as the struggle against the homosexual brothels, which appeared in the large cities of England.

Private life and public morals.

A gynecologist has the right to examine the genitals of a woman in Bahrain, however he (she) can't look directly at them, but only at their reflection inthe mirror. The sexual intercourse with animals is allowed by law in a number of Moslem countries, but exclusively with females. A person faces the prospect of the death penalty for the liaison with a mail animal in Lebanon. They can decapitated for masturbation in Indonesia.

Only the so-called missionary position is allowed in the State of Florida, and it is forbidden to kiss the woman's breast during the intercourse. It is not allowed to have sex involving the "the horsewoman" position in Massachusetts.

The legislators of countries and states also show a somewhat inappropriate eagerness in the matter of the defence of public morals. A man in a skirt may be arrested in Italy, for example. Of course it is clear what men in skirts are in question, but what should the Scotch, whichrevere their traditions do in Italy?

Women are prohibited from wearing patent-leather shoes in the State of Ohio: it is considered that shoes can reflect underClothes. It is prohibited to have been kissing for a longer period of time than five minutes in Iowa.

The law of the State of Florida, according to which single women are prohibited from parachuting on Sundays, is the last one in this category. Perhaps it is also connected with public morals.

The hotchpotch.

It is prohibited to conceal anything from the tax officer in case you don't want him to know it in the British regulations concerning the tax evasion (issued in 2006). For all that in case you don't mind if the tax officer gets to know of some data, you are not obliged to report them to him.

It isprohibited to lead being blindfolded in the State of Alabama. It is strictly forbidden to water with alcohol in Ohio. It is not allowed to kill birds in the City of Boulder, Colorado. Moreover, it is unlawful to own domestic animals there. Thus everyone who keeps a cat or a dog is officially called "the attendant of the animal".

A wife must get the written consent of her husband to have the dentures made in the State of Vermont. The head of any dead whale found ashore in London belongs to the King. The tail of such a whale belongs to the Queen in case if she needs the baleen for the corset.

Uniform Scrubs and the Operating Room

When we think of uniform scrubs, due to the popularity of recent television programs such as Scrubs, ER and Grey's Anatomy, we no longer think of the operating room as the primary location of the wearer scrub. Although scrubs remain standard OR garb, uniform scrubs have invaded virtually every area and every departMent of the hospital.

Uniform Scrubs and the Operating Room

The history of operating room medical atTire is one of evolution. Originally physicians and nurses did not wear a medical uniform. Doctors wore their normal Clothing while providing patient care services and donned only an apron to protect their Clothing from body fluids while performing surgery. Little thought was given to providing protection for both doctor and patient from bacteria. Surgeons operated without masks, gloves andsterile equipMent. As the medical profession became aware of the risks of infection, surgeons began wearing masks to reduce the risk of physician's exposure to bacteria and disease.

The issue of sanitation gradually became a driving force in the healthcare industry as medical practitioners realized the benefits of protecting both themselves and patients from infectious disease and bacteria. Uniform scrubs were introduced, providing the team with comfortable surgical garb that replaced the standard operating surgical apron as atTire. Uniform scrubs are designed with double sewn seams flat that resisted the invasion of bacteria into the garMents. Design details were kept to a minimum to eliminate places for infectious substances to hide. Scrubs were easy to launder and replacementcosts were minimum compared to other uniform options. Originally available only in unisex sizing, scrubs had a boxy fit to allow for ease of movement.

White became the symbol of purity and cleanliness and invaded the operating room in the form of white uniform scrubs. However, surgical procedures left the white scrubs stained and unsightly from blood and other body fluids. In the middle of the 20th century, white uniform scrubs gradually gave way to jade green and ceil blue scrubs in the operating room. These colors came to be known as "green hospital" hospital "and" blue and are still in use today in the OR. The move to colored scrubs helped disguise soil and also to soften the white glare "of the operating room, easing the eye strain caused by the stark white environment of thesurgical theaters.

By the 1970 's, uniform scrubs had assumed the styling now recognized on today's television. In the operating room, surgical scrubs still are comprised of the standard short sleeve, V neck top and drawstring pant. These styles allow operating room personnel to quickly change garments between surgeries. The roomy fit and non-binding scrub pant waists are easy to wear during long hours spent in surgery.

Today, operating room staff often wears disposable gowns over their uniform scrubs for an additional layer of protection against infection. These gowns absorb most of the fluids and bacteria which are then disposed of, instead of laundered and returned to service.

The Secret to Finding the .30warmest and Best Blankets For Your Home

The Secret to Finding the .30warmest and Best Blankets For Your Home

At nights when you are trying to stay warm in your bed, there are some blankets that just work better at keeping you warmer than others. Here are a few words about blankets and what to look into ones that will do the best Job in keeping you warm in a cold house.

There are many different brands, styles, and designs of blankets that you can use to keep your body warm. Most homes have a variety of differentblankets that you can use depending on your comfort level. In my home, we have lighter blankets that we use in the summer months and heavier blankets for use in the winter. Electric blankets are also a nice addition to your bed that you can use to keep you warm as well. In my honest opinion, it is best to have a whole bunch of different blankets to choose from, especially if your house is occupied by a good number of family and friends.

When choosing blankets for your home, you'll first want to consider the different materials that the blankets are made out of. The two main categories of natural and synthetic fabrics are.

Natural fiber blankets to me are the most comfortable and best choice. Of course since these blankets are made of real materials that last longer and keep youwarmer, they will cost more as well. You can buy them in cotton, wool, and even down. These materials are breathable, wash easily, and will last a long time.

The down material may not be as easy to wash but uses a material from under the feathers of ducks and geese that keeps them warm. So it should come as no surprise that the down blankets are going to a great job in keeping your warm as well.

Some people find that the synthetic materials are better blankets for them because they are hypoallergenic, cheaper, and are just as soft. The only negatives of using a blanket made out of synthetic materials are that they don't breathe as well and won't last near as long.

How the JARS System Works

How the JARS System Works

The jars system is an easy and simple way to manage your money. In the beginning I resisted this system. Eventually I gave in and began to see the financial rewards first hand. In my last post I shared some of the benefits of using the JARS to manage money. In this post I'll cover my experience on how the jars work.

How the JARS System Works

How the JARS System Works

How the JARS System Works

How the JARS System Works

How the JARS System Works

Why Physical JARS?

I've had a few people ask me why I have the physical jars sitting on my desk. Some have asked, "Steve, do you actually put money in those jars?" The answer is, 'it depends'. Let's explore the question in more detail.

Currently, I have setup the jars electronically so that all transactions are completed automatically on a monthly basis. Most of the work is done online. From this stand point you might think that there is no need for the jars. One of the reasons I have the jars on my desk is because they help me build the habit of managing extra money. Keep in mind that visual is memorable. The jars are a physical reminder of where my money is going.

Sometimes I run into extra cash or happen to find change in my pocket when I get home from work. When this happens the place the cash into one of the jars. Most times I'll place the money into the FFA jar-the jar used to build our nest egg.

The physical action of placing the money into the jar is important. Once I place the money into the jar it gets me thinking about ways to use that money. For instance, when I place money into my FFA jar it triggers my sub-conscious to find ways to invest. The action of putting the money in the jar is like planting aseed. Once the seed is planted my mind works on creative ways to invest.

Sometimes I'll place my extra money into the PLAY jar. Similarly, this will trigger my thought process to find ways to spend money on play. It's like a game. Every time I put money into one of the jars my mind starts working to find ways to spend that money. This process is a great way to build your money managing habit.

Unfortunately, most people don't use a system like this and they tend to always be in debt. One of the reasons they're always in debt is because they use their extra money to pay their debt. If you're consistently using extra money to pay your debt then you're teaching yourself that habit - to pay debt.

The more you do it, the better you get at it. Eventually this habit becomes ingrained in you and it happens unconsciously. This habit can also lead to a poverty consciousness. The more times you pay your debt, the more you think about it. The more you think about it, the more you feel it. This will attract more debt. The way to move away from debt and into prosperity is to setup an automatic debt payMent program and read my article, Focus On Prosperity.

The JARS

As a recap, here are the jars and a short description of each one.

> Necessity Account (NEC-55%): This account is for managing your everyday expenses and bills. This would include things like your rent, mortgage, utilities, bills, taxes, Food, Clothes, etc. Basically it includes anything that you need to live, the necessities.

> Financial Freedom Account (10%): FFA-This is your golden goose. This jar is your ticket to financial freedom. The money that you put into this jar is used for investMents and building your passive income streams. You never spend this money. The only time you would spend this money is once you become financially free. Even then you would only spend the returns on your investMent. Never spend the principal or else you'll go broke!

> Education Account (EDU-10%): Money in this jar is meant to further your education and personal growth. An investMent in yourself is a great way to use your money. You are your most valuable asset. Never forget this. I have used education money to purchase books, CD 's, courses or anything else that has educational value.

> Long Term Saving for Spending Account (10%): LTSS-Themoney in this jar is for the bigger nice to have purchases. As I said in my last post, Trisha and I are going to Whistler, BC in January 2008. The only reason we've been able to make this happen is because we've accumulated a nice sum in our LTSS. A small monthly contribution goes a long way.

> Play Account (PLAY-10%): This is my favorite account. PLAY money is spent every month on purchases you wouldn't normally make. The purpose of this jar is to nurture yourself. You could purchase an expensive bottle of wine at dinner, get a Massage or go on a weekend getaway. Play can be anything your heart desires. I've spent my play money on a night of sushi and sake at a Japanese restaurant; hockey equipment that I didn't really NEED but wanted; a night out on the town with a limo,champagne, etc.

> Give Account (GIVE - 5%): The money in this account is for giving away. Trisha and I give money every month to the Sick Kids Hospital Foundation. We also use the money in this jar to give to family and friends on birthdays, special occasions and holidays. You can also give away your time as opposed to giving away money. You could house sit for a neighbor, take a friends dog for a walk or volunteer in your community. When you give your money or time you're sending a sign of abundance to the Universe. You're telling the Universe that you have plenty of everything, you're abundant. Giving signals abundance. This will magnetically attract more abundance to you.

How the JARS Work

Trisha and I deposit all of our personal income into a necessity account. In our case it's our checking account. The money in our necessity account pays for all of our expenses. The remaining money is distributed into 5 other accounts.

I learned very early in the process that the jar percenTAGes are not critical. To guarantee your financial success just start using the jars and build the habit. This is key. It doesn't have to be perfect when you start. You could even start by splitting every month into the jars. There is an inspiring story in 'The Secrets of the MillionAire Mind' about a woman who started splitting into the jars every month. In her first month she put 10 cents into her play account, 10 cents into her FFA, 10 cents into her LTSS and so on. Later that month she used her play money to buy a piece of bumble gum. She received a mini comic with the bubble gum package that she bought with her play. She read the comic and got a laugh. Two years later she deposited to $ 10,000 Dollar check into her FFA account. Now who's laughing?

If she can do it then so can you.

I highly recommend the JARS system to anyone who wants to make the most out of their money. If you're looking for a simple way to make more on what you already have then use this system.

Glacier Girl

Glacier Girl

On Tuesday, July 7, 1942, Franklin Delano Roosevelt declared "Europe First", and Operation Bolero began it's first phase in history as a massive buildup and moveMent of Allied Aircraft into the European theatre. It was only seven months since the attack on Pearl Harbor had thrust the U.S. into the war.

Twenty-five crew members took flight from the Presque Isle Air Base in Maine and headed for the United Kingdom. Piloting six P-38s as escorts for two B-17s, the flight overseas required stops to refuel in Labrador, Greenland and Iceland on the way to England. The path from Greenland to Iceland required the squadrons to fly over mountains on the east coast of Greenland, across the Denmark Strait and over the ice cap to Reykjavik, Iceland.

As the squadrons soared over the ice cap at twelve thousand feet, a heavy blanket of clouds obscured their view. They rose above the clouds to improve visibility. Temperatures in the thin atmosphere dropped to minus ten degrees Fahrenheit. Still ninety minutes from Iceland, the planes entered a large mass of cumulus clouds and were forced to climb another two thousand feet. As one of the pilots lost feeling in his hands, he ripped the plane's defroster from it's mounting and used it to heat his gloves to make them warm enough to feel the controls. As the flight progressed, their feet became too numb to feel the rudder pedals.

The smaller P-38s struggled to maintain contact with the B-17s as ice formed on their wings. Radio operators tried desperately to raise the Airbase in Reykjavik or the weather plane that was supposed to be flying an hour ahead of them. As the weather became worse, and lacking any outside communication, the squadron decided to return to the Airbase in Greenland and wait for better conditions. An hour later, as they approached the east coast of Greenland, the weather conditions became worse.

After ninety minutes of flying in dense cloud cover, the squadron began to run low on fuel and decided to search for a place to land. Brad McManus, pilot of one of the P-38s, decided to land with wheels down. He hoped that landing on wheels would enable him to take off again after more fuel was dropped for the aircraft. Everything seemed to go well for the first several hundred yards. Then suddenly, the front landing gear crashed through the ice and the plane flipped over, pinning the cockpit in the Snow. McManus managed to cut his way out of his parachute harness and his safety belt as smoke filled the cockpit.

Watching the scene from above, pilot Robert Wilson retracted his landing gear and slid to a smooth stop on the ice. He raced the half mile back to the site of the crash to check on McManus. Wilson's breath billowed in wispy white clouds behind him as he ran toward the smoke from the crashed plane. McManus walked out from under one of the wings of the downed planes and said, "Didn't think I'd make it, did you?" As the two pilots waved, the remaining squadron responded with slow rolls and other aerial acrobatics.

One by one the other P-38s landed on the ice. The B-17s remained aloft for nearly another half hour, expending the remaining fuel before joining the other planes on the frozen surface. Not a single crew member was lost during the landings, but there was no time to celebrate. The crewman turned their focus to survival and rescue.

The Lost Squadron

Rations were gathered and divided to last for two weeks. The Men wore Sunglasses at all times to prevent Snow blindness, and avoided eating too much Snow as it would result in sore throats. The crew hack sawed holes into both ends of oxygen bottles and linked them to engine manifold pipes, with oil drained from engines and wicked through the device on parachute straps the assembly became crude space heaters to combat the freezing temperatures.

After three days on the ice, one of the radio operators received a Morse code message to confirm their condition and position. Later that day, exciteMent mounted as Supplies were dropped by parachute. The excitement waned as the crew members Watched strong winds carry the parachutes and the Supplies far out of site on the horizon. As additional attempts to provide Supplies resulted in similar catastrophe, the stranded airmen created scavenging parties to search for the scattered Supplies. When supplies were finally gathered and organized, the crew members celebrated with a square dance on the wing of one of the B-17s.

Back at the airbase, people coordinated supplies and devised plans to rescue the Lost Squadron. Meanwhile, on the ice, the men passed several more days listening to radio broadcasts from England. Another favorite diversion was to sit on burlap sacks and hold on to parachutes, racing one another as strong winds pulled their parachutes across the ice. Eventually a ship, ski and dogsled team were dispatched to retrieve the crewmen.

The P38 Pilots retrieved personal affects, fired .45 slugs into electronic equipment to keep it from falling into the hands of Nazi scavengers, and prepared for the long trek to meet their rescuers. McManus removed a clock from his instrument panel as a keepsake. The men marched through knee deep Snow and ice for hours, finally collapsing at the edge of a cliff on the ocean's edge. They took turns watching over each other as they slept. Once they were picked up by a Coast Guard Cutter, the men were treated to showers, dry Clothes and a nice meal before being dispatched to new assignments.

Fifty Years Later

On July 15, 1992, 74 year old Brad McManus stood on the ice cap surrounded by the pieces of a P-38 flown by his late friend Harry Smith. The plane was buried under 268 feet of ice. The goal was to rescue one of the planes from the Lost Squadron. Special equipment was used to dig a hole and melt the ice by circulating hot water and pumping it out. It took more than one month to complete digging the hole to the aircraft. It took twenty-five minutes to descend to the bottom of the hole, where steam hoses carved out a cave around the aircraft. After another four months, the aircraft was disassembled and carefully removed from the icy grave.

The process of restoring the P-38 has been said to be "the finest restoration of any warbird ever done." Several specialists contributed expertise in goods and services to the effort. Among these efforts, B. F. Goodrich Aerospace in England rebuilt landing gear and brakes. A Pennsylvania company fabricated a new canopy. The Smithsonian Institution supplied eight reels of microfilm and stacks of photocopies of era aviation maintenance and handbooks, parts and repair manuals.

At the time of this writing, Glacier Girl is currently at the Planes of Fame in Chino, California, where installation of modern avionics includes a GPS navigation system, gyros and a radio. The Lightning's Allison V-1710 engines will be examined and extra fuel tanks attached. Once the airplane is ready, it will be flown home to the Lost Squadron's home base in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Then it will retrace the original flight path from Presque Isle, Maine through Goose Bay Labrador, Greenland, Reykjavik Iceland, Prestwick Scotland and on to England for the 4th of July Duxford Airshow. The purpose of the trip is to complete a journey started in July 1942.

Words of Wisdom

"There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still."
- Franking Delano Roosevelt

"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb."
- Sir Winston Churchill

"Here is the answer which I will give to President Roosevelt... We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or Tire. Neither the sudden shock of battle nor the long-drawn trials of vigilance and exertion will wear us down. Give us the tools and we will finish the Job."
